We are Part of the Slovenia Green Scheme

Years ago Slovenia committed to green and sustainable tourism that will benefit the natural, cultural and social environments. A national programme and certification system were designed to bring together all the endeavours aimed at sustainable development under the Slovenia Green brand, and allow comparison with other green destinations around the world, while also preserving the national character that visibly positions green Slovenia on the global map.

All our destinations are part of the Slovenia Green scheme and have the Slovenia Green label.

The first to enter the scheme was the Municipality of Nova Gorica in 2015, awarded the silver label and later obtaining the Slovenia Green Gold label in 2019. In 2016 joined the municipalities of Ajdovščina and Vipava, obtaining the silver label together as the Vipava Valley. In 2019, the gold label was awarded to the Municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica, and in 2020 to the Municipality of Vipava. The Municipality of Renče-Vogrsko obtained the bronze label in 2021. Municipalities carrying the gold label are on the list of top 100 sustainable destinations in the world.
