We are Part of the Slovenia Green Scheme

Years ago Slovenia committed to green and sustainable tourism that will benefit the natural, cultural and social environments. A national programme and certification system were designed to bring together all the endeavours aimed at sustainable development under the Slovenia Green brand, and allow comparison with other green destinations around the world, while also preserving the national character that visibly positions green Slovenia on the global map.

All the municipalities in the Vipava Valley are part of the Slovenia Green scheme and have the Slovenia Green label. Since 2015, five municipalities from our destination have gradually joined the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism: first the municipality of Nova Gorica, followed by the municipalities of Ajdovščina, Vipava and Miren-Kostanjevica and finally the municipality of Renče-Vogrsko. The municipalities of Nova Gorica, Ajdovščina and Vipava have been awarded the Slovenia Green Silver label, Miren-Kostanjevica has been awarded the Gold label and Renče-Vogrsko has been awarded the Slovenia Green Bronze label.
