Peace from a different angle

The charming serenity of the rural life and the feeling of endless freedom, the almost invisible borders, the peace ... Today’s luxury was not always so accessible. This region was shaped profoundly by many wars. To date, people and the landscape itself can still remember and feel the devastating consequences of the Battles of the Isonzo, one of the deepest scars First World War left in the region. As countless as they are cruel, the traces can still be seen throughout the places.

But with our modern values, we are able to see and appreciate them from a different perspective. Today, many peace trails, museum collections and monuments pay respect to the unpleasant wounds and share the values of acceptance and coexistence.
