Industrial and crafts heritage in the Municipality of Renče–Vogrsko
The permanent exhibition in the Bukovica community centre will take you through the history of the local industry and craftsmanship, best known for its brickworks. Here they burned clay already during the Roman Empire, which is testified by the incredible artifacts, whereas milling was thriving on the Vipava River. The industry and craftsmen experience a big boom after WWII when a bunch of trades, from masonry to processing of artificial materials, emerged on this rather small territory.
The collection narrates the stories of artifacts and photos, as well as reminds us how the first entrepreneurs and tradesmen started their businesses in abandoned brick factories, horse stables, inns or in their own garage.
The exhibition is open for visitors:
- Mondays from 8.30 AM to noon
- Wednesdays from 8.30 AM to noon and from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM
- Fridays from 8.30 AM to noon
