Two rivers, two different invitations to the waterfront
The Vipava River, which runs through the namesake valley, is lazy and mysterious in its lower reaches. The lush banks shelter many bird species and give the impression of untouched wilderness.
The Soča River, for many the most beautiful stream in Slovenia, will amaze everyone with its stunning emerald colour. In Solkan, two waterscapes meet almost seamlessly. To top it off, there are some thrilling rapids before the river continues for Italy where it is joined by the Vipava River a little further south. Have fun and enjoy the sport activities provided by both rivers.
In Solkan, the rapids of Soča River offer particularly thrilling aquatic adventures. The kayak centre will teach you the basic strokes of kayak paddling, take you down the rapids in a raft and with a boat to the opposite bank, which used to be the state border between Italy and Slovenia.

The lower riverflow of the River Vipava presents fantastic paddleboarding opportunities. 15 paddleboards are available for rental by the Renče mill, in the Sup Kultura house. On prior arrangement we also offer guided tours.
