A music experience you don't want to miss

American singer-songwriter, poet and "Godmother of Punk" Patti Smith is bringing together music lovers from both sides of the Slovenian-Italian border. The free concert, announcing the European Capital of Culture, will take place on 5 October 2023 in the car park of the former Rožna Dolina border crossing.

Patti Smith, named by Rolling Stone as the 47th greatest female artist of all time, is one of the leading figures on the global art scene – a musician, visual artist and activist who has made rock'n'roll history and is perhaps best known for her hit single Because the Night, co-written with Bruce Springsteen. She has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe Award and has received numerous accolades throughout her career. In 2007, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2010 she won the prestigious National Book Award for her bestselling book Just Kids.
