Vina Fornazarič
Excellent sites, graceful climate and traditional cultivation enabled the Fornazarič Winery to expand their winegrowing all across the nearby hills, constantly honing their wine craft. 1991 was a breakthrough year for the farm, when they began thoughtfully restructuring their vineyards. This meant planting the vines more densely, reducing yield per vine and outright abandoning the use of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. Their wines were thus transformed, vibrant with natural stability and longevity.
Fornazarič wines age in a subterranean cellar without any additives, apart from a touch of sulphite. Matured, they are bottled without filtration, with a mindset of keeping the wine as alive and full as possible. Three generations of the Fornazarič family are now engaged with winegrowing and winemaking. On their six hectares of vineyards, they tend to some 30,000 vines with great care and consistency.
The Fornazarič offer features five different bottled wines, four of which are white, the Leopold (blend of Malvasia, Jakot and Ribolla), Malvasia, Jakot, and Chardonnay, and also the red Rubino (blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon).
