Vina Saksida
The current owners are the fifth generation of the Saksida family to run the grape-growing and winemaking business. The family's vineyards stretch over sunny hills overlooking Vipava River. The farm’s five hectares grow predominantly red varieties over white, which is in itself unique in the Vipava Valley. Barbera is the winery's flagship variety. Other red varieties include Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, whereas whites include Zelen, Pinot Gris, Ribolla and Malvasia; the latter two are used for the Carisma blend. The offering is completed with two sparkling wines: white and rosé.
Not to be missed:
- the estate includes an agritourism farm and a campsite and glamping with a pool
- availability of wine tastings for up to 40 people
- close to Vipava River for great SUP and kayak outings or relaxing fishing opportunities
- the area is ideal for scenic bike tours and hikes among the vineyards and orchards
