Fervin
Situated in the heart of the Vipava Valley, the estate was taken over by the Ferjančič family in 2018, making a venture into the production of high-quality wines for the modern palate. The name Fervin is a callback to two factors that decisively influence the quality and the character of these wines: “Fer” comes from the family name Ferjančič – the people behind the wine – and “vin” comes from the village name Vrtovin, which is the location of the wine cellar and the vineyards. Ultimately, Fervin wines are produced to encapsulate both the hard work of two generations of one family as well the extraordinary terroir below the slopes of the mighty Mt Kucelj.
Not to be missed:
- the offering includes bottled wines: Fervin Malvasia, Fervin Rose, FM Furja, FM White, FM Red, FM Rose, FM Muškat, and bulk wines
- tastings for up to 50 people
- Vrtovin is a great starting point for hiking tours
- Sveti Pavel nad Vrtovinom is notable for the tallest surviving Roman water tower in the country that is located over the spring spouting from the cliff on the south hillside
