Oil Production Tradition Revived
After the massive frost in the early 20th century that swept across the Vipava Valley, olive trees were practically wiped out. It was only in the 1990s that farmers started recognizing the local potential for growing olives. Small-batch manufacture of top-quality olive oil put the Vipava Valley back on the map of countries that produce “Mediterranean gold”.

The sun-kissed olive groves in Plače owned by Iztok and Mojca produce award-winning premium olive oil.

Manual processing of naturally ripe seasonal vegetables, preserved only in extra-virgin olive oil according to traditional recipes without preservatives and artificial ingredients.

Kmetija Kante
Located in Šempas, the Kante farm cultivates 800 olive trees and 500 hazelnut trees. The extra virgin olive oil continues to receive top prizes at competitions at home and abroad. If you book in advance, you can take part in a guided tour of the olive grove and attend a tasting of the homemade oils. Farm-made products are also available for sale.
Oljčna olja Ortaona
Extra virgin olive oil made from olive cultivars Istrska Belica, Leccino, Maurino, Pendolino, Leccio Del Corno and Buga. Its quality is attested to by numerous gold medals and awards won at home and abroad.
Oljčno olje Skrlin
The Skrlin extra virgin olive oil is a blend of single-varietal olive oils with a harmonious and rich flavour, and a perfect balance of bitter and spicy. It has received national and international recognitions for its premium quality.
Oljčno olje Ronki
We have managed to capture the sun and the burja of the Vipava Valley as well as the perfect balance of tartness and spiciness in the bottles of our extra virgin olive oil. A premium product, Ronki has garnered many awards in national and international competitions.
The Marušič farm offers prize-winning olive oil made on the farm, as well as homemade meats and wine.

The farm boasts unfiltered olive oil, stored in refrigerated stainless steel containers at a constant temperature of between 14 and 16 °C. The Petrič family is very proud of the olive oil it makes, and is happy to show guests to their olive bar, for sampling their various olive oils.
