This museum project launched by the Regional museum Goriški muzej commemorates the life along the state border of Yugoslavia and Italy, which in 1947 cut in two the – up to that point uniform – cultural, social, economic and political territory of Gorica. The project comprises three smaller museum collections in disparate locations along the state border of Slovenia and Italy, namely the Museum Collection Kolodvor, housed in the railway station building from 1906, the Military Watchtower in Vrtojba, and the Museum Collection Miren set up in the Miren cemetery, paying tribute to all who illegally crossed the heavily guarded state border.
