Tactile Gallery: Art Beyond the Visible

In the Kromberk shopping mall building, visitors can see – and touch – the unique exhibition Art Beyond the Visible, the largest international tactile gallery in Slovenia.

The exhibition has two thematic sections. The World that Exists presents tactile interpretations of artworks from ancient Greece to modernity, in collaboration with museums from Italy and Slovenian art institutions. The World in the Making showcases original works by 17 artists from Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia, created specifically for the tactile experience.

The Tactile Gallery goes beyond traditional museum rules and proves that art can be accessible to all – including those who experience it through touch. It invites guests into a space without architectural barriers, where art is not just a matter of looking but a holistic sensory event.

The project, created in the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2025 and in cooperation with the Nova Gorica Inter-Municipal Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired and KUD Artes, offers a broadly accessible artistic experience.
