Vinišče World War I Memorial Park
The Memorial Park in Vinišče, which is a hamlet of Renče, covers an area of 10,000 square meters and is perforated with trenches, bunkers, a cavern and criss-crossed with well kempt paths. Many soldiers from all over the Austria-Hungary fought in this area, including many Slovaks. A memorial to the memory of those who were killed here was erected by their fellow-countrymen. It is a six-metre-high wooden bell tower next to a cavern at the top of the hill. There is also a lovely table with benches provided.
The Vinišče World War I Memorial Park is part of the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic, an initiative geared toward the sustainable development of the heritage of the Great War.
The old funeral parlour of Renče cemetery houses the Field Hospital Museum from WW1.
