Cross-Border Bus Lines in the Year of the European Capital of Culture
In a year celebrating GO! 2025, the cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia are better connected than ever. Visitors and residents can travel easily, comfortably, and affordably between the two cities with two recently set up cross-border bus lines.
Running year-round, the new bus lines will help residents and visitors get around and fully relish the cross-border vibe of this friendly conurbation. As before, the city bus remains free of charge, while travel on the international line requires a ticket. A single ride costs €1.70 and a day pass €3.40, whereas international rides remain free of charge for children under the age of 10.
New Route in 2025
To improve general accessibility of the region, a direct cross-border bus connection between Trieste Airport, Gorizia, and Nova Gorica will be launched for the duration of the European Capital of Culture celebrations, running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This service will ensure a smoother and faster arrival for foreign visitors.
These new bus lines mark an important step towards sustainable mobility, encapsulating the spirit of the European Capital of Culture 2025 and paving the way toward a shared future.
