Start: Lokovec, car park at the church in Srednji Lokovec
The trail starts in front of the church in Srednji Lokovec, where there is a small car park. Lokovec was initially settled by charcoal burners in the 17th and 18th century. Over time, the village saw the development of various other crafts, most notably blacksmithing. Today, the Small Blacksmith Museum and the Technical Heritage Centre proudly display the local heritage. The trail leads from the church in Srednji Lokovec uphill past the playground to the asphalt road leading to the hamlet of Novo Mesto. The trail continues on varied terrain: a gravel road, a path and an asphalt road. After a two-hour walk, you arrive at your destination, i.e., the summit of Mt Lašček (1071 m). In clear weather, you are treated to scenic views of the Julian Alps to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the south. To get back to where you started, simply retrace your steps. The trail is well maintained and marked; hiking shoes are recommended.
